Solar PV Label Set

Engraved solar labels with your system ratings engraved in, not written in by hand. Made for electricians and solar installers who want every label for the job in one order, proofread and permanent.

What's in the set

Essentials, 8 pieces:

Complete, 16 pieces: everything above, plus MAIN PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM DISCONNECT, PHOTOVOLTAIC DC DISCONNECT, PHOTOVOLTAIC AC DISCONNECT, a second shock hazard warning, a THIS PANEL IS FED BY MULTIPLE SOURCES plate, two PHOTOVOLTAIC POWER SOURCE junction box cover plates, and DO NOT DISCONNECT UNDER LOAD.

With battery, 20 pieces: everything in Complete, plus an ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM DISCONNECT plate with your nominal AC voltage and maximum DC voltage, a third shock hazard warning for the battery disconnect, a multiple sources plate for your backup loads panel, and a plate marking where the battery disconnect is.

The rapid shutdown placard

Choose the version that matches your system. If the whole array shuts down, the placard reads TURN RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH TO THE "OFF" POSITION TO SHUT DOWN PV SYSTEM AND REDUCE SHOCK HAZARD IN ARRAY, engraved yellow with black text. If only the wiring outside the array shuts down, it reads TURN RAPID SHUTDOWN SWITCH TO THE "OFF" POSITION TO SHUT DOWN CONDUCTORS OUTSIDE THE ARRAY. CONDUCTORS IN ARRAY REMAIN ENERGIZED IN SUNLIGHT, engraved red with white text. Each placard is one color pair. Some inspectors expect the two-color layout with a colored title band over a white body, which a single engraved plate cannot reproduce, so check first.

The labels

• Engraved 2-ply laminate, 1/16 inch thick. The lettering is cut through the top layer, so it cannot wear off or fade
• UV-stable, rated for indoor and outdoor use, for labels mounted outside at the meter or disconnect
• Every label is proofread word for word before engraving
• Square corners. Adhesive backing included, screw holes on request at no charge
• Labels are 4 x 1 to 5 x 3 inches; the junction box covers are 6 x 2 and the rapid shutdown placard is 8 x 5

What we do not make

• The rapid shutdown SWITCH label. It has to be reflective, and reflective material cannot be laser engraved, so buy that one as a reflective sticker.
• Wrap-around conduit labels. Our junction box cover plates are flat; conduit runs need flexible labels.

Label requirements vary by city, utility and fire department, and by code year. If your area needs different wording or extra values, contact us before you order and we will match it. Check what your inspector expects before you order.
