Are your badges printed?
No. Every piece is engraved. The lettering is cut through the surface into a contrasting layer underneath, so it is part of the badge and cannot smudge, peel, or wear off.
What are the badges made of?
Our color badges and brushed gold or silver badges are 1/16 inch two-ply engraving acrylic: a colored or metal-look cap over a contrasting core. Wood badges are plywood with a real walnut, maple, or black wood face. Our premium badges put an engraved brushed metal-look face on a polished gold or silver metal bar.
Magnet or pin?
Every name badge comes with a strong magnetic back. Prefer a pin? Choose it in the Backing menu, at the same price. Magnets are not recommended for pacemaker wearers or staff working around them, so please choose a pin.
Will I see a proof before you engrave?
Yes, and it is free. Check "Send me a free digital proof" when you order and we send it within 1 business day. Nothing is engraved until you approve it. Logo badges, team sets, and our industrial and solar sets always get a proof.
Which fonts can I choose?
Arial (our default), Montserrat, Quicksand, Barlow Condensed, Georgia, Roman Small Caps, Damion and Pacifico. Damion and Pacifico are script faces and are engraved in mixed case, with the title line underneath set in Arial.
Can you engrave my logo?
Yes. Upload it when you order, or email it to us after checkout. Vector files (.svg, .ai, .eps, .pdf) engrave cleanest; a high resolution .png works too. Simple one-color logos engrave best. Not sure your logo will work? Contact us before ordering and we will check it for free.
How long does it take?
Most orders ship in 1 to 3 business days from our Santa Barbara studio. Orders that get a proof ship after you approve it, and larger sets can take 3 to 5 business days.
Can I order a matching badge later?
Yes. We keep your design on file, so the next new hire's badge matches the team exactly, and a reorder is one message.
Do you take team, school, and bulk orders?
Yes, they are our specialty. Our Business Name Badge Sets come in 5, 10, or 25. For a bigger run, send us your roster and we will quote it. Schools and organizations can order with a purchase order; see our Team and School Orders page.
Are any of your products made for outdoor use?
Yes. Our truck and toolbox plates are cut from an outdoor-rated material that shrugs off sun, rain, and job-site heat, and our solar labels and plates by size are waterproof.
Do you accept returns?
Every piece is made to order with your text, so we do not accept returns or exchanges. If anything arrives damaged, contact us and we will make it right.
