The labels

  • Engraved 2-ply laminate, 1/16 inch thick. The lettering is cut through the top layer, so it cannot wear off or fade like a printed sticker
  • UV-stable, rated for indoor and outdoor use, for labels mounted outside at the meter or disconnect
  • Red with white text or yellow with black text
  • Square corners. Adhesive backing included, screw holes on request at no charge
  • Labels are 4 x 1 to 4 x 2 inches; the breaker label is 2 x 0.75

How to order

  1. Pick your color.
  2. Choose the emergency disconnect wording and the generator warning, then give us the loads and the three locations. Need different wording? Type it exactly and we will match it.
  3. We send a free proof. Nothing is engraved until you approve it.

A note on requirements

Label requirements vary by city, utility and inspector, and by code year. Our standard wording follows the 2020 electrical code; newer code years can ask for other colors and larger letters. Check what your inspector expects before you order. We engrave exactly the wording you approve.
